XP reserves 20% of your bandwidth for it's own use,by default.So it should be undone immediately.Just follow the steps below for speed up your internet:
1. first click start button,and then click run ,and type gpedit.msc in the run box.You will now be looking at something like this:
2.then click to Computer Configaration, then click Administrative Templete, then click Network,Then click QOS Packet Scheduler using the pane on the left side.
3.In the left pane,there should be a Setting with the name: Limit reservable bandwidth,right click this and select properties.
4. now you can do this by clicking "enabled" and then setting the Bandwidth Limit % to 0.you have to change Bandwidth limit 20% by replacing 0%.It should look like image below:
5.Hit ok thats done!
